2023 is the first year Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi holds the position of Arab Ambassador to Indonesia. Ambassador Faisal admitted that there are already several collaborations that have been signed by the two countries and hopes that the program can be realized as soon as possible. The good relationship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia can also be seen in the attitude of tolerance that has recently been discussed by the public. The government of Saudi Arabia has always carried out its tradition of setting aside some of its enjoyment to fellow Muslims in various parts of the world. This tradition is carried out as a form of King Salman’s concern and social ties that intersect with SDGs program number two, namely Zero Hunger as an effort to achieve good nutritional food security, especially in the fasting month. This year, Indonesia was entrusted by the Crown Prince to provide 100 tons of dates to all Muslims in Indonesia. Launching the Kemenag.go.id page, the dates were symbolically handed over by the Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi to the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office, Jakarta on March 19 yesterday. “This assistance or cooperation is a reflection of the extraordinary relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Indonesia,” Ambassador Faisal said in his speech. In fact, this friendly relationship has been demonstrated by a similar activity last year where the Saudi Arabian government donated dates which were then distributed by the Indonesian Government through various Regional Offices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Minister Yaqut said that Saudi Arabia allows the distribution of dates to all citizens, even non-Muslims. Yaqut also provided several supporting statements, “We will see. He (Faisal) said that it is free to distribute to anyone. The important thing is not to forget the mosques and musala,”.
Dates have become an iconic fruit during the holy month of Ramadan. Looking at its content, it turns out that dates have many properties in supporting nutritional intake among the community. This fruit is known for its sweet taste and soft texture. The high fiber and carbohydrate content help facilitate the digestive process that occurs in the human body. The need for sugar, vitamins, and natural antioxidants is also supported by this typical Arabian fruit. The easy-to-melt texture shows that dates can be accepted in all age groups. In fact, some people who are prone to intake restrictions, such as the elderly, have been shown to consume this fruit because of its thousands of benefits. Starting from supporting bone and heart strength, preventing rheumatism, to improving memory and brain work systems.
